Assalamu ‘alaykum! It is that time of the year again for MSA Elections for the board of 2026-2027!
First and foremost, we follow the sunnah of the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) who said in a saheeh hadith:
“Do not ask for a position of authority, for if you are granted this position as a result of your asking for it, you will be left alone (without God's help to discharge the responsibilities attendant thereon), and if you are granted it without making any request for it, you will be helped (by God in the discharge of your duties).
Leading our community bears great responsibility, a matter which cannot be taken lightly. It is contrary to Islamic etiquette to seek a position on the MSA Board. The election process is designed with this principle in mind.
Asking people to nominate or vote for oneself, creating political parties around a candidate, and campaigning of any kind will NOT be tolerated. Word of a candidate asking members to vote for him or her will be grounds for the IMMEDIATE disqualification of the candidate.
In order to be eligible to nominate a candidate, you must complete the active membership 2026 Active Membership Form.
Once completed, we ask that you nominate a suitable community member for a board position with the nomination form 2026 Nominations Form before Monday, March 30th 11:59 PM.
There are a total of 8 board positions which include:
President
Internal Vice President
External Vice President
Treasurer
Communications Director
Educational Coordinator
Sister’s Director
Brother’s Coordinator
